The DC Alliance – Performing Arts Collaborative Group serves as a regional affiliate of the GMWA National Alliance, advancing the mission and legacy of the Gospel Music Workshop of America (GMWA) through education, artistic excellence, cultural preservation, and professional development. Rooted in the rich creative landscape of the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region, the DC Alliance provides a dynamic hub for artists, creatives, and cultural practitioners committed to growth, collaboration, and impact.

As part of the GMWA National Alliance, the DC Alliance upholds a nationally recognized standard of artistic integrity, mentorship, and community engagement. The National Alliance has long served as a cornerstone for artistic training, leadership development, and cultural advancement within the performing arts. Through this affiliation, members gain access to a broad national network, educational resources, performance opportunities, and leadership pathways that extend beyond regional boundaries.

The Performing Arts Collaborative Group functions as the programmatic arm of the DC Alliance, offering structured pathways for artists to strengthen their craft, expand their professional capacity, and engage in cross-disciplinary collaboration. Through workshops, masterclasses, showcases, conferences, and live performances, members receive tools that support artistic sustainability, career development, and cultural relevance in an evolving creative economy.

Leadership & Excellence

The DC Alliance is led by Trice Whitley, President of the Performing Arts Collaborate Group, whose visionary leadership is grounded in decades of experience across music, media, business, and ministry. Trice Whitley is the owner of i-AM-RADIO.COM, a Stellar Awards multi-nominated online radio station nationally recognized for excellence in gospel and inspirational broadcasting. Under her leadership, i-AM-RADIO.COM has also received Spin Awards nominations for both the station and its on-air personalities, reflecting a strong commitment to artist development, media excellence, and community impact.

Trice’s professional journey spans radio ownership, artist development, nonprofit leadership, event production, and strategic community engagement. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes integrity, collaboration, and empowerment—ensuring creatives are supported not only artistically, but also professionally and spiritually.

Supporting this vision is a distinguished executive leadership team whose members collectively bring over 85 years of combined experience in music, business operations, media, ministry, and organizational leadership. This seasoned team operates with excellence and accountability, guiding the DC Alliance’s strategic planning, programming, partnerships, and membership engagement while upholding the legacy and standards of the GMWA National Alliance.

Membership in the DMV (DC | Maryland | Virginia)

Membership in the DC Alliance – GMWA is open to vocalists, musicians, producers, directors, dancers, writers, educators, worship leaders, and arts advocates throughout the DMV. Members benefit from:
